The photo is of some railing in our quad at school, the element is in the two railings that are parallel to each other. The shot is successful because the railings make the picture asymmetrical. This shot is of a tree and of a trash can. The element of proportion is with the tree and the trash can and how the shot shows the difference in size between the two objects. The photo is of different light poles in the base ball field. The rhythm in the photo comes from how there are multiple light poles in the same shot all in a circular formation. The picture is of a trash can in the middle of a field. The principle comes from how the viewer's eyes are automatically drawn to the trash can. This photo is of a variety of books and shelves in the RBV library. The principle of harmony comes from how everything in the photo looks like it should be there. The repetition of books and the shelves helps emphasize this point. This picture is of my dog Cody sitting on a stool in my kitchen with various items related to breakfast and the morning. The element of variety comes from my dog sitting on a chair and having actions that would relate to being a human. It then successfully adds something random to the shot while also making the shot more interesting. This picture is of a sunset at oceanside pier. The element of unity comes from how all aspects of the water and the sky, reflect the gleam of the sun and how all parts of the photos create one single image.

1. How I took the photos was by setting the camera to shutter priority and then having the shutter speed be 1/1,500 of a second. This allows me to have the pictures appear to be frozen in time.
2. Struggles that I faced was that a few times I would take the picture half a second too late and the photos would then not demonstrate fast shutter speed as much as I would like them to. 3 What I learned from fast shutter speed: a. Water looks like small bubbles that are separated from each other as they pour out of a cup while a slow shutter speed would show a stream of water b. Water is a good test for trying out shutter speeds. c. The faster the shutter speed, the more the photo appears to be frozen in time. d. Another way that fast shutter speed could be used is when an object is destroyed and you take a picture of the pieces falling. My photo is of a girl facing a mural and dealing with her inner self. How this photo represents self-respect is with why she is wearing a red sweater while looking at her mind. Her wearing the sweater is used to visually express how she is remaining drug-free to protect herself. I chose to take this photo because I felt that this was the best way to describe that high school students who remain drug free are just trying to protect themselves from the negative effects that drugs and alcohol can have on a person.
To achieve this picture, I first had my partner wear her red sweater and had her pose in from of the mural. Once I had taken the photo, I put the picture into Photoshop where I create a second layer that would be manipulated. I made the second layer black and white, which turned the entire picture black and white. Then, I used the erase tool to erase the black and white from the sweater to make it the only colored object in the picture. This is how I was able to have a red sweater on a black and white background. 1. How I took these photos was by mounting a camera on a tripod in a dark room. I then had my partner use an app called "myLightPaint" on my phone to create a rainbow trail for the pictures.
2. The only struggle both my partner and I faced was that some of the glow sticks we tried to use for the photos all turned out to be too dim and could barely be seen so we couldn't use those. 3.The three most important things I learned was that increasing the shutter speed could be beneficial with trails, that lighting is very important especially when it comes to have a single light in a dark room, and that blurry effects can help make a picture pop out. 4. Other ideas I thought about was trying to make different shapes or try to have multiple shots with a single word in all of them to then create one long sentence stringed together by the photos. |
